Francis Bellido, Director
Dr. Bellido spent his career overseeing and leading the development of several organizations in the healthcare industry. He brings strong financial management expertise, deep operating and leadership experience and a global business perspective, acquired over 30 years of international business in biosciences, healthcare and financial industries.
Notably, Dr. Bellido managed a CA$300 million life science investment fund (SGF-Santé) that produced several important and key players in the medical device industry. He has a proven ability to approach technical and scientific issues with a solid business perspective. Dr. Bellido holds a PhD in medical microbiology from the University of Geneva and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Québec at Montreal.
Edward Lawrence Moore, Director
Dr. Moore brings relevant business knowledge and a significant network, developed during his 40-year tenure in the software, semiconductor and cybersecurity industries. Early in his career, Dr. Moore founded ANACAD, which developed software technology for integrated circuit (IC) design. ANACAD’s products were adopted globally for their application in IC design and utilized by major corporations such as Daimler, Toshiba, and SGS Thomson. The company was eventually sold to Mentor Graphics.
Dr. Moore is currently President of Baystream, a company specializing in process automation and cloud-based solutions. Recently, Baystream developed automation solutions to deploy security-hardened systems to the Cloud that are focused on availability and compliance, strengthening its process automation offering and its key position in the market.
Luc Paquet, Director
Dr. Paquet is the Chief Executive Officer of a consulting firm, supporting clients through transactions, strategic positioning, and developing technical innovation. From 2013 to 2018, Dr. Paquet was the CEO of Transfertech Sherbrooke. Prior to that, he served as Director of the Institute of Pharmacology of Sherbrooke and, from 2011 to 2013, he was Vice-Dean, Development & Partnerships at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Sherbrooke.
Previously, Dr. Paquet spent more than 10 years in various managerial positions in the biotech sector, actively involved in the innovation of new drug products. He holds PhD from the Université de Montréal in Biomedical Sciences and was completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University.
Scott Rickards, Director
Mr. Rickards is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Waterfund LLC, a private investment and financial services company focused on investing in water treatment infrastructure, distribution and logistics. In 2012, he launched Waterfund with the development of the Global Water Cost Index alongside IBM. Prior to founding Waterfund, Mr. Rickards was the Senior Business Development Executive at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), an agency of the Dubai Government. It was responsible for Dubai Commodity Asset Management, a hedge fund and ETF investment platform licensed by the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates.
Mr. Rickards began his career in the Commercial Service of the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina and was an analyst in the International Listings division of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Mr. Rickards earned his BA from Columbia University and holds an MA in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
Marc Rousseau, Director
Mr. Rousseau is the President of LVR Capital Inc. He began his professional career with Crédit Ford of Canada, where he acted as Director of Operations. In 2001, he joined the Business Development Bank of Canada as a Senior Business Development Manager, a position he held until LVR Capital was founded in September 2005. LVR is a consultation investment bank providing direct counsel to firms in their financing needs mostly for debt financing. Since 2005 it has been instrumental in providing close to 200M$ to numerous companies as well as being responsible for the restructure and turnaround of several firms. At the same time, he pursued a military career in 1981 to 2004 as an infantry officer with the Canadian Forces. He commanded the Mount Royal Fusilliers Regiment from 1996 to 1999 and served in Bosnia as a Plans and Policy Team Leader at NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo.
Mr Rousseau has been a director of the National Film Board of Canada, of Iscope Corporation and has chaired the board of the Quebec Society for disabled children. He serves on the advising committee of Pilote Groupe Conseil and of RealByFake and counsels other firms for their financial strategies. He is the President of La Fondation Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal and member of Corporate Connections. He holds a Bachelor in arts, Economics, from Concordia University.
Pascal Fortin, Director
Mr. Fortin is the CEO of GoSecure Inc. He started his first IT Services consulting firm in 1997 at the age of 17 and went on to have a thriving career as a self-taught Information Technology expert and director at a multinational company. Mr. Fortin joined GoSecure in 2004 with the mandate to build a world-class engineering and consulting team, he became president of the company in 2008. Still very active in the field, he provides services as an Information Security and Risk Management Senior Advisor to clients of all business sectors. He has made recent contributions in various national speaking engagements for organizations such as the IIA, Government and private events like GoSec. Mr. Fortin completed a Executive MBA at the Université de Sherbrooke and he holds a Bachelor's Management / Finance from Université du Québec à Montréal.
